The topic that I plan to pursue researching for this paper deals with the controversy that surrounds interracial couples with a primary focus on hindu-muslim relations. I want to explore the conflicts, the stresses, and the consequences that such a relationship would bring about. The research would involve finding out about all of the mental controversy as well as familial implications both of the participating individuals will have to face.
I wish to study the above topic because of the insane controversy that surrounds it. It affects not only the two people in the relationship, but their friends, family members and even some members in the community. This is when the relationship has to factor in others into it, not just the two people who are in it. This type of situation occurs all over the United States as well as all over India and the near by countries. To see such a couple go through with their relationship is almost one of triumph or years of misery. Either way, it definitely has a major impact.
Hindu-Muslim relationships are an ever increasing occurrence all around us. Whether it be friends or maybe even family members acting upon it, it has become an increasing over the years. People are willing, more often than before, to defy their tradition values for what they call "love." I want to trace their reasoning , their validity, their repercussions. Interracial couples will be significantly increase in the future and it is crucial for the relationships that pave the way to normalizing interracial relationships to be reviewed and analyzed. This could have a huge impact on helping individuals deal with the consequences that it will cause. It will familiarize couples with others' struggles so they can relate and be better prepared for their own battle.
