Variation is a function that relates the values of one variable to those of other variables. And it is a relation of 2 quantities in which one is a constant multiple of the other. That’s why in this survey, there’s a VARIATION. There are 3 kinds of Variation. First is Direct Variation which has statement; if X increases, Y also increases. We can relate to it in our lesson in Araling Panlipunan which is all about demand & supply. If the salary of a person increases, the demand also increases. Second is Inverse Variation which has statement; if X increases, Y decreases. For example, if the price increases, the demand decreases and vice versa. Last is the combined/joint variation which involves both direct and inverse variations.
In my survey, I have 4 choices which are the ff:
• FCJ Pizza (Php 99)
• Greenwich Pizza (Php 249)
• Pizza Hut (Php 279)
• Shakey’s Pizza Parlor (Php 331)
For those who choose wisely, they have things to consider in choosing among those choices. I think these are their money, the quality of the food product and the like. For example, a certain person who chosen FCJ Pizza because it is the only pizza that he can afford to buy. In this case, he looks to his income (X) and it decreases. That’s why the demand of the other pizza brands (Y) decreases too.
While in the other hand, other person didn’t consider the price of the pizza brands and they look to its quality or to its taste. Or maybe, those people considered the price of the pizza brands and they afford to buy these pizzas because their salary or income is higher than other person.
