MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD LIBRARIAN

High school for me was like being in the deepest part of the Amazonian Rainforest and of course with the craziest bunch of people. You never know what awaits you but sooner or later, still make it out to the part called reality. Teachers are like the sun which guides you out and friends are the ones who stay by your side throughout the journey. Going into the forest with sheer curiosity and stepping out with valuable life lessons is similar to what one experiences during the period of half a decade spent in high school.

A huge shout out to the editorial board of MGS 2017 in being able to make the jaws drop as usual with yet another magnificent copy of Our Argosy for this year. I personally do look forward to the day of getting my hands on a copy of our school magazine every year. Flipping through the pages and looking for my pictures were quite embarrassing but I’m sure that it’s what most of us do. Thank you for giving me the chance to pen my thoughts in a book that I consider as a solid evidence of a well spent year in a glorious school.

Being the Head Librarian of MGS, Ipoh was the heaviest of responsibilities that I have ever shouldered. Honestly, I never thought of it once, before the day I was presented with the scroll of appointment that came along with the trust of my fellow librarians and revered teachers alike. It was the day I pledged to not let them down and to carry out my duties with sheer integrity.

To the school administrators, thank you for having faith in me to lead the board of librarians. To the teachers who had guided me throughout my journey through high school, your teachings will always be held as one of my highest virtues. All those values that you try and assimilate into each of your students will never be forgotten. To you who had moulded me into the person I am today, even the biggest of thanks would not be adequate.

To the members of the board of librarians, my ohana who stood by me during the darkest of times, those who laughed with me when otherwise. Times we stayed back to arrange books on shelves and times we had to clean up the whole library to make it squeaky may have been filled with frustration but looking back now, those were the times we worked together and functioned as a family. And you’ve got to admit that the best part of it was all those jokes that we laughed our heads off to.

My pillars of strength and the silver linings to those dark clouds, my gang of cuckoos,  thank you for putting up with me for the past solid five years. Hope our friendships goes on till the end. Lets keep slayin’! Love you all lots.
