Michelangelo had great teachers while growing up. In his childhood, Michelangelo preferred drawing rather than schoolwork. At the age of 13 Michelangelo was apprenticed to Domenico Ghirlandaio. Throughout his career, Michelangelo met many important men. Michelangelo took pride in all of his works. In my essay I will discuss Michelangelo's most famous works of art.

One of Michelangelo's most famous works is the PietÐo. The PietÐo shows Christ in his mothers lap. In The PietÐo Mary looks sad. The PietÐo is a very graceful and peaceful sculpture. Another famous work of Michelangelo is The David. The subject of The David is the story of David and Goliath in the Old Testament. The statue of David is very big. It shows David standing with most of his weight on one leg. David has a serious face in the statue. The Tomb of Julius II is another elaborate work made by Michelangelo. The tomb stood in Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome. The tomb has many levels. The tomb of Julius II is beautiful. Julius II is in the center and his face is facing right.
