A corporation is a large business that has the many of the same legal rights of a person. There are many corporations all over the world, but most of them are run in the United States. Although these corporations have positive contributions to the world, they also create a lot of negative implications. The rise of corporate America is directly responsible for wreaking havoc on the social, environmental, and political spectrums of the world.
Corporations have a major negative impact on the social spectrum of the world. They directly affect the increase of wealth poverty polarization, and are responsible for the majority of human rights violations all over the world. Corporations increase both of these problems by exploiting the poor. The corporations hire people to work in factories throughout various undeveloped countries and usually provide them with low income, long hours and unsanitary conditions. In these sweat shops, some workers are beaten and refused breaks, causing health issues as well. Not only are these workers poor, but in most cases they are female and underage. This leads to another human rights violation; child labour. Many corporations hire children because they can be paid much less than adult. They violate the child's rights by enforcing long working hours and very unsanitary and unsafe conditions. Corporate America is responsible for the majority of human rights violations all over the world and are very difficult to control due to their political control as well.
Corporations also create many political issues throughout the world. Corporate America is the root cause of government corruptions. Many corporations work with the government to ensure that their reputation is well kept and many of the owners of corporations hide behind their company logo in legal issues to protect them from harm. Unfortunately, in many cases, corporations have more power than the government, which enables them to violate many environmental, and human right laws and get away with it. Corporations also create a lot of legal problems by funding political parties. This helps the parties that agree with corporations win elections. Since corporations make a lot of money, some even make more than undeveloped countries GNP, they also have the ability to pose economic threats, which can ultimately have a negative effect on political parties. The income that these corporations gain has a large effect on the governments decisions and is a major problem in the world. Corporations are directly responsible for causing many of the worlds political problems.
