1. One of the main discussion points of the video was whether or not video games contribute to the violent behavior in real life. Do you think they contribute to violent behavior? Discuss. Personally, I think video games do not contribute to violent behavior in real life because your life just can't be changed just because one played a game. Sure, one can get emotional towards a game but they should realize that it is only a virtual world and they shouldn't let that affect their life.
2. I think the most important turning point in the video game industry was the development of LAN (multiplayer) games, because that gave a people a chance to have a challenge in a game a chance to play against real people who are just as (if not better) good as them. People didn't have to play against computers over and over again, they got to experience more of what the game had to offer and had a chance to play with their friends and chat with them and make new friends.
3. Yes; games can help people learn even though some find it hard to believe. Of course there are games that help people learn bad things, like how to use a gun and ETC..., then there games that help people learn how to money and life, like the SIMS. Research shows that 'God games' in which players must control virtual people and societies could be educational. These kinds of game help kids be social or manage the money when they grow up so they won't fall into any financial disasters.
4. Where is the video game industry headed in the next 5 to 10 years? In five years I think the video game industry would surely have changed, I mean the graphics on the new systems such as the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 are simply stunning and I believe if they any better one would find themselves at home controlling characters who simply look like real people. The video game industry is already booming and I don't think it will slow down or close down, seeing that billions of people around the world play them and if there is such thing as a good road for video games and a bad road; well I think the video game industry is traveling on the good road.
