Music is part of everyday life and is heard by many listeners almost everywhere around the world. There are many different genres that classify the mechanics of music. Some of these genres can be identified as; easy listening, rap/hip-hop and classical. Onc type of genre that has many people jumping up and down for is rock. Rock has been known for head banging concerts, hardcore lyrics, and guitar solos. Two of the many genres that can be classified under rock are emo and metal. Emo music uses a vocal crescendo range and metal uses constant hard sounds that never fade to soft.

Metal, as stated before, uses anger driven lyrics. This also goes for the vocal range, which can be associated with screaming, yelling, and crying. Unlike emo there is never a time in metal where it is completely soft. Metal uses a vocal range that can most definitely hurt the ears just listening to it. The non-stop yelling of metal tends to lead listeners
