My Musical Experience and Me in a Nutshell

My name is ______, and I live in a small community called ______, which is located near _______. I have just completed my first year of college at _____, and I am studying to become a high school English teacher. I have chosen to take summer classes in hopes of graduating early, and I am taking four internet classes because I want to stay at home with my family and friends during the summer.

Throughout middle school and high school, I was involved in many music experiences. I became involved in band when I started the sixth grade. I played the clarinet for the CMS Band and CHS Band until the end of my sophomore year of high school. I enjoyed it, and I moved back and forth from first to second chair clarinet several times. We had fall and spring concerts, and we competed in an All-East concert band competition as well as several marching band competitions, including a BOA competition (in the ___ minidome) in which we ranked in the top ten. I also took a freshman chorus class, and I had a solo in "Oh Happy Day" for our end-of-semester concert. After my sophomore year, I quit the band and decided to move onto other things. During my junior year, I sang and danced with CHS Showstoppers. We had a fall and spring concert, and we competed at Disney World. During my senior year, I tried out for the Dance Team, and it was a lot of fun. We choreographed dances to popular music. We competed at the summer dance camp held at the University _____ and at the TSSAA State Championships held at_____ University. Although I have had several music experiences, my band experience provided the most exposure to classical music. At any rate, I enjoyed it all, and I look forward to listening to the music for this class.
