It was back in the summer of my accident; she had always taken care of me. This time it was a different kind of care though. I was terribly injured and unable to perform tasks on my own. I can remember her bathing me and she started crying. I had asked her why she was crying and she responded with, "You're my baby; you should not be going through this. If anyone should be like this it's me. I wish we could just trade places right this minute." I understood what she was saying, but of course I was not going to let my mother go through the pain that I was going through at that time. Demeter was obviously written all over my mother.

My mother has been shown to be a very strong and wise woman. She was raised with the mentality that a woman doesn't need a man to make her happy and can do everything on her own as long as she puts her mind to it. She lived this actually when my father cheated on her when I was just a baby. They went on a break, and in the meantime my mom proved to herself that she doesn't need to be with anyone to raise me. The fact that she was able to do this shows the Hestia side of my mother.

As for my father, he was one that was heightened by the experience of women. In high school, he didn't know what he wanted to do with his life that he didn't even graduate, but eventually went to get his GED. He also didn't have the approval of his father. In many actions that my dad did, his father just became more and more disappointed, especially after getting his girlfriend in high school pregnant. When all this had past and he married my mother, he wasn't faithful to her but was willing to stick around for the sake of my sister and I. As the past couple of years have gone by, he has been through several health issues and loses in his immediate family. This put him in a state of depression, but I noticed a severe change in him. He has lost weight to look better, and he has gotten a promotion at his new job with only being there a short amount of time that brings him to a director position, which is making him want to go to college. I'm glad to see him want to actually do something with his life. In my father, back then I had seen some Dionysus that was thrilled by women and chaos. I also see some Ares that was not approved by his father, and the infidelity towards my mother. Now, I am starting to see the birth of an Apollo.
