The book I did for the book report is called Nerds.
Nerds is by Michael Buckley. It is a fiction book with 303 pages in it. The setting is in a secret base. The story is about six kids spying on someone who is believed to be a robber and a criminal.
Gluestick, Pufferfish, Choppers, Finch, Wheezer, and Braceface weren't friends yet. They were getting bullied and they wanted to stop bullies. So they all got in a group and became friends. Later that year, a criminal/robber shot and killed somebody.
It was June of 2009, and the nerds were fifth graders now. They decided that the word nerds means National Espionge Rescue and Defense Society. Later after it was made up, they acted like detectives to solve the murder mystery.
Later that month, they tried to keep solving the mystery, but they failed. They were still working on the murder mystery. When they got older they became smarter and finally solved the murder mystery.
I liked Gluestick the best. He is a really nice guy, and he can stop arguments. He was helping somebody who was mad. Gluestick decided to calm him down. He even stopped an argument for the Nerds so they didn't get in a fight.
The theme is to treat others how you would like to be treated. When the robber was caught, she said, "If I didn't rob, I wouldn't be here." The most exciting part is when they caught the robber. It was unusual that the spies had super powers. I liked that the author wrote about spies. I didn't like that somebody robbed.
