Nestle unveils Android KitKat Google partnership

Two big companies between Google and Nestle have teaming up to make a realization about their collaboration to release the new version of its Android operating system called as Android KitKat. As part of that, Nestle will print their specially branded KitKat bars with the logo of Android robots. This is a part to keep building Nestle's strong presence with interactive also creative branding campaigns. This specially branded KitKat bars will be on sale in 19 countries. Besides that, consumer can join the competition where they can win lots of prizes from Google products by direct to the website that print on the dedicated packs. This branding partnership is one of the Nestle marketing plan and also a step to enter the digital technology and online content so they can understand and meet their customer preferences.

Nestle cuts KitKat saturated fat with palm oil switch

Beginning next year, Nestle will starting selling and manufacturing their product with a new recipe at their factory in York, United Kingdom. This new recipe means they has reduced saturated fat levels in KitKat around 10% by changing the oil palm in the wafer filling. This reformulation has been approved by United Kingdom government and it also been added into their public health Responsibility Deal. This technique of wafer filling has been reformulated by changing the oil that is used to make the wafer filling. Different specification of new palm oil has been choosing which has lower saturated fat profile. Nestle believe that 3800 metric tons of saturated fat can be removed according to their 3 years research and development at Nestle R&D team in York. The reformulation of the recipe also not affected the taste of the product while the level of sugar and the calorie count is remained same.

OPINION:

Since there is partnership between Nestle and Google, it is a good step for Nestle to promoting and marketing their product into a new level. With involving using new way of marketing such as digital technology and online content, Nestle can get new customer from another market and perhaps it can boost their sales.
