New Product Idea Generation & 4. Idea Screening
(1) Driving-Through Supermarket
Since our main target is the elderly, especially who are bothered by getting out of the car in shopping for everyday products, our main idea for the new product is "Driving-Through" supermarket. The system means that there is a screen for ordering and a window for picking up on each side for the building so that the customer can buy the daily products in their cars. The biggest advantage of this system is saving time. It takes only about 3 minutes for each car. Another advantage is that it doesn't need big space for the market. Other markets like Wal-mart should have the space for customer, for example, space for the cart.
(2) Low Price
Another attractiveness of SuperFresh is the low price. The idea is to be possible by selling restricted products, only everyday products. Specialized in small category make it possible to save the cost price and offer with the low price. This is the factor making SuperFresh discriminated against the convenience store.
(3) Touch-Screen for ordering
There is one touch-screen pad for ordering on each side of the building. It is placed right before the picking-up window, and the names of the products which is arranged by category are shown on the pad with their prices. Right after the ordering, a store clerk picks up the products which is ordered and then passes the product with payment of the customer. The picking should be complete at most in 3 minute for the biggest advantage of SuperFresh, the saving time.
(4) Products idea for location
The core factor for SuperFresh is the accessibility. The location should be selected by concerning the target customer's moving route. The perfect location in Towson is by the "York RD". It is a main road to downtown in Towson and lots of stores and houses are placed along the road. The decision for which point on the road is depends on the place where the target customers live.
