* Member of a team developing SPIRAL - a software system that generates platform optimized

algorithms and code for DSP transforms.

* Developed algorithm rewrite rules for multi-dimensional Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT).

* Implemented loop merging techniques for DFT transforms to generate efficient C code that utilizes

data locality; collaborated with members of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU).

* Benchmarked the performance of the generated code on Intel processors using Intel's rdtsc timer and

the Performance Counter Library (PCL).

* Established a wireless test-bed including Vector Signal Analyzers, Vector Signal Generators and other

RF circuitry for estimating communication channels for frequencies up to 5GHz.

* Validated 4 blind and non-blind channel estimation algorithms under stationary and mobile

transceiver scenarios.

* Analyzed performance of the IEEE 802.11a protocol at the physical layer viz. Orthogonal Frequency

Division Multiplexing (OFDM) in stationary and mobile ad-hoc networks.

* Investigated effects of time-varying channels on performance of the IEEE 802.11a protocol and the

cross-layer interaction of the PHY, MAC and TCP layers.

* Identified areas to improve the performance of OFDM in IEEE 802.11a protocol in mobile ad-hoc

networks. Results were published in a refereed paper and in a thesis.
