Q1:- Describe the culture at Nickelodeon Latin America.
Work Culture at Nickelodeon:
Mission of nickelodeon is to “to connect with kids and to connect with kid’s world through entertainment”
Kid Friendly:- Everyone use to think keeping kids in mind like what they would like and how would they react to this message as it’s a very challenging jobs because kids channel hold responsibility for a nation to train and educate kids. Even employee are allowed to get their kids to the office. Chocolates, cartoon character are kept everywhere for the kids.
Strategic thinking: - Employee are creative and strategic in finding the solution to the problem they faced as all the employee are mostly all-rounder. Everyone one is multitalented and share good amount of ideas.
Involvement of all department: - Different Ideas are shared with the team from different department. Everyone was welcome to give suggestion and feedback.
Orange blood: - Everything around the office is painted with orange color, Cartoon character, doodle, messages sent from kids. This means everyone is equal and people are not afraid to share Ideas and critique each other.
Q2:-How did Swan go about building that culture? (Consider the interrelationships among Nickelodeon Latin America’s context, design factors, culture, and outcomes).
Swan had the international exposure in nickelodeon as she has handled the project in Germany. She is well aware of the nickelodeon culture of orange blood. She possess a leadership quality like openness, self-assured, risk taker, accountable, excellent team leader. Considering the example having a limited resource given by the Viacom, Taran had to share the resources MTV. Now MTV and Nickelodeon both have a different market sector as nickelodeon kids focused and MTV is chic, generation X but Swan convinced the staff of MTV to shift into “startup mode” and do additional work with no pay. Now convincing people with some persuasion and motivation required to ask people to work without extra pay for 2 jobs. She has to create awareness among the MTV staff about the Nickelodeon brand to engage them in the Nickelodeon work. She has arranged workshop to familiarize and energize the staff about the brand.
