Executive Summary

NITOL MOTORS LTD. HR department supports other departments by supporting and coordinating the departments to achieve organizational goal. The most important responsibility of HR department is managing the human resource of the company. It starts from recruiting and selection. The HR department finds out HR need by trend analysis and forecast the supply from internal and external sources. They attract candidates by giving advertisement and arrange test to assessment the candidates. They usually use Intelligent test, Aptitude test, Situational test, and Motor and Physical ability test. Tests are varied based on position and experience. After the tests every candidate goes through an interview session. The format of the interview is unstructured. As they think an unstructured interview is more helpful to analyze a candidate. They conduct the interview through a panel consisting of 3-5 members. After successfully selecting the desired candidate, the company send the candidate for training. They provide both On-The Job Training Methods and Off-the Job Training Methods. After joining the workforce, the employees are evaluated. They used Graphic Rating Scale Method for performance appraisal. Now the organization follows Management by Object (MBO) method. In Nitol Motors Ltd., immediate supervisor appraises their subordinates’ performance. But a board meeting is held on this appraisal. NITOL MOTORS LTD provides different kind of employee benefit. Every employee of Nitol Motors Ltd. gets Eid and Puja vacation, normal holidays, Family Vacation Leave, Sick Leave and parental leave. Nitol Motors Ltd. has health insurance benefit.


Introduction

We prepared this report for our honorable faculty member Md. Al-Amin, Lecturer, School of Business and Economics of North South University. We selected NITOL MOTORS LTD.  for our study.

Humans are also an important asset for the company along with their market reputation and sustainable competitive advantage. Human Resources Management (HRM) is the strategic management of the employees, who individually and collectively contribute to the achievement of the strategic objectives of the organization. These individuals hold the organizational goals, policies, beliefs up front and focus on achieving them. An organization can only be successful if it has gained the commitment of their human resource in the attainment of the organization goals and objectives and in doing so the role of manager is equally significant. In this report we want to explore the root of this success which is the employees, how they are recruited, selected, trained and developed and retained in the organization. The following analysis will enhance our ability by comparing the knowledge gained from academic perspective with the practical scenario.
