Norm violation

Choosing to run around the cotton district with a green suit on was a fairly easy decision after making my list of violations. I put on a green suit like you see on ESPN and Sportscenter and ran around the cotton district. I started off by stopping by the liquor store and buying a fifth of tequila. After that, I went to Jeans Café and waved at all the people sitting in there eating dinner. Then I ran around the back of Jeans and headed up the road to BIN 612. As I ran by Bin 612 there were several people eating outside and carrying on as I ran past. After I did a cart wheel in front of everyone at Bin 612 I ran across the road to Sushi Martini and went in there to buy a rolling rock and sip on a beverage. Finally after a quick drink with the bartender, Kenny, I ran across the road passing Rock Bottom and Tabs, heading back to my house to conclude my violation or violations rather.

Running around in a green suit probably is not the safest or smartest thing to do at night in the cotton district. There are many reasons why people wear normal clothes everyday instead of the green suit. You wear normal clothes in the liquor store, so the guy behind the counter will not think one is crazy and so the camera will see your face. If I had not gotten permission from the guy at the liquor store first, he probably would have thought I was attempting to steal.

Another reason people wear normal clothes is because it is comfortable. The green suit was very hot and muggy. I wear normal attire every day, not just because it comfortable, but because I don't want people making fun of me for wearing a green suit.

I thought about walking into a random class room with all of the "black bears" attire on and just sit in front on the stage in the classroom. Did not want to do this because the mere possibly getting physically injured and did not want to make a situation that awkward for a class full of students. Also, if I picked the green suit I would not have to ask permission from the teacher. Also I would have to figure especially since its summer school, I'm sure most teachers don't have any time to waste just for me to act crazy for a couple minutes.

Originally I had decided to do my norm violation at regions bank. I was going to attempt to stand in line at the drive-thru of regions bank while there vehicles in line to deposit money. One day I was jogging through the district for a local run and I remembered I had a check in my wallet that I needed to deposit. So I really thought about doing it prior to the class, but that's how the idea of possibly walking through regions bank drive-thru came about. The reason I did not choose this violation is because for one I did not have to ask for permission to use the green suit like I would have at regions bank, and number two after one of my buddy's came up to me and told me about the idea of the green suit I just could not turn it down. Right there and then I knew I would run around the district in the green suit instead of walking through regions. I had also written down on my sign off sheet that I was going to stand backwards in the elevator in McCool hall. I think the main reason I didn't select this was because I just don't think it was quite as crazy as all the the other violations, so it did not take me very long to decide not to do this after considering the violation.

I started out by taking all of my clothes off except my boxers before I started this journey in the green suit. I walked up stairs in my house to look in the mirror while my friends help me put it on. After skeet and peterwood helped me get in the suit I walked downstairs in the house where several other of my friends were waiting to see me in the suit. After I got downstairs I learned that you could see the outline of my boxers and my crotch area by all of the comments that were being made. So I knew I had a problem to fix before I even started. I went back up the stairs where my girlfriend, Brittany, and I were trying to figure out what to do to fix this problem. I put on some boxer briefs and made sure they were tucked in real tight around my legs so you could not so any blemishes in the green suit. I walked downstairs once again in front of my friends to see what they thought about it. This time everything looked right and the suit and I were ready to begin. So I put my Nike shoes on that matched my attire and waited for all my observers to take their places.

It was about ten thirty on Tuesday night. I had to wait till it was late so there would be plenty of people at the bar. I live on top of a liquor store, so I thought it would be a good idea to start out by going to buy me a fifth of tequila. Then, I went out the liquor store and went across to Jean's Café and waved at everyone inside as Brittany was taking my picture. After this, I ran behind Jean's Café and up the road to Bin 612. As I ran by Bin 612 I did a cart wheel in front of everyone and just kept my jogging pace over to sushi. I ran in front of the fountain in sushi and hung an immediate right and headed up the stairs between Sushi Martini and Ptolemy's Tap Room. I ran in Sushi Martini and got me a rolling rock to match my outfit. Then after that I ran across the road between rock bottom and tabs and headed back to the house. As I got back to the house I realized that I could not take the suit off, but luckily my roommate Russ never left the house and was there to help me unzip the suit.

I knew going into this violation I was going to do something very crazy, but I did not think I would be doing something as dramatic run through the cotton district in a green suit. I was really nervous before starting, but after being said and done it was not that bad. I sweated profusely the whole time I was running through cotton district because it was humid, I was nervous, and the skin tight suit would not let my body breathe to get air.

As I performed the violation I really could not see that much because of the green suit, but I could hear everything. As I walked in the liquor store I noticed the man working behind the counter was hysterically laughing at me and he said, "Man that is a crazy looking green suit". He was really baffled with me that I was drinking tequila while I was in the green suit. When I left the liquor store and went over to Jens Café I could see all the people inside waving back at me and pointing.

When I ran by Bin 612 I could everyone saying,"Hey look at the man in the green suit", and I also heard one girl make a comment," that was a great cart wheel." When I ran in front of the fountain I could hear everyone at rock bottom talking about me. As entered sushi Martini I could hear Brittany and skeet laughing at me as they were taking pictures.
