This is a case study of an non-profit organization, Northern County Legal service, which is locate at urban area having major staffs including volunteers students of law school. The main mission and objective of this organization is to facilitated the legal service to those who cannot pay for it and are victims of domestic violence, housing, family law and employment law.
While going through the case, it seems that the working environment of the Northern Country legal service is not in good condition. There is huge queue of people almost full of the small hall which consist nearly client. And the staffs are busy in meeting with the appointment as well as walk in clients. The whole system of the client management sees unorganized as clients has to waits for hours. Further, three staff are sharing a room for meeting with client and they also have not proper access to the required logistics as all the employees has to share a single printer. In addition to this, while Julie, head of the Northern Country Legal service call for the monthly meeting even there is no facility of better and comfortable chair. Around only two third of the staff were shitted in uncomfortable assorted chair.
Due to the small room, large number of client in queue the temperature of the room become hotter and hotter which creates frustration among the client and staffs. Besides these, Julie, is only the full time employee of the organization and it seems that she is more focused on funding rather than in teambuilding, effective workflow and better organizational management.
Further, looking at the operation of the Northern County Legal Service, staff are confused about which is an urgent case and which is not. Further they also had confusion in where to file. I think that case which has made the service and operation of the Northern County Service even more worst when staff has not appropriately fill up the form. Looking overall the case it seems that the Northern country legal service is a case of unmanaged whole organizational process.
