Let me give you an example of a well-written and announcing speech thesis statement.

Title of the Speech: No Vouchers In Education

Good thesis for a speech: Vouchers in education don't improve our public schools, because experiments show us that vouchers divert much-needed public funds for the few and have weakened the entire system.

As you can see, this sample announces what you are going to state and prove. This speech topic gains interest - you want to know what experiments are done and how they weaken the educational system. The same goes for this example statement:

Title of the Speech: Privacy on the Internet Should Be More Protected

Good thesis for a speech: Privacy on the internet should be more protected by a ban on identity theft and safeguard genetic information, because everybody has the fundamental right to have absolute control over his or her personal information.

3. Do The Final Check - Now write down the thesis speech idea you have in mind. But how do you know whether your persuasive or informative speech thesis is well-constructed or not? Answer: Scan my final checklist. If it meet five or six of the following next nine points you can consider your sentence as a good one:

Does it introduce the contestable point, the claim you want to make?

Is it not too broad? Can you discuss the issue and claim in the given time limit?

Does it announce what the audience should do, think or feel?

Does it reveal the main speech topics?

Is it simple, clear and direct?

Is the speech thesis easy to remember and understand?

Does it gain interest?

Does it say why it's important?

Does is contain a benefit?

Take your time. Tweak and rewrite. A compelling and good thesis for a speech is the fundament for attractive public speaking. Writing a persuasive speech or other arguable text to speech or even a speech essay is a lot easier now you know how to start: with organizing your thoughts and speech topics in an effective speech thesis.
