Nowadays, the overall level of media access is all-time high. Such a tendency keeps an ordinary individual well informed about pretty much any military action that is being taken by any government around the world. We mostly pay attention to how all of the horrific strings and details that intertwine into frightening phenomenon of war hurt humanity physically and just a small fractions of our attention are focused on negative effects of war on psychological well-being of an individual. "Psyche" of anyone who was involved in any military conflict gets inevitably affected in one way or another.
The case of Iraq War veteran Mr.Gregg is a bright example of how effects of an intense stressful events could put one's life and dreams in jeopardy within a matter of a split second. A well trained military man brought back home something way more dreadful than just a few gunshot wounds. Gregg came back home with PTSD, a stress disorder that affects every area of one's life.
Our legal system is far from perfect, it is not a secret. Main criterion that is being taken into the consideration when it comes to homicidal cases is the sanity of a suspect. It simply refers to rationality, sturdiness and state of one's mind health. In other words it points out if a person can bear legal responsibility for his or her actions. There is no med ground in such a debate. Could we view the behavior, feelings that were committed by Mr.Gregg as rational? Impulses - maybe, behavior and feelings - No! The question whether the diagnosis of PTSD affected what had happened that night is definitely interesting. We all know that individuals who suffer from such a disorder suffer strong psychological symptoms. They tend to be anxious, agitated, detachment, guilt and anger. Stressful event (like a preference of another man by a female friend) when combined with an onset of PTSD have potential of throwing a person into a vertigo of uncontrollable episodes of confusion, anger and rage. Unfortunately, that is exactly what exactly happened to Mr.Gerg. The events and moments lived through in Iraq had a severe damaging effect on state of Mr.Gregg's psychological health. I am assuming that situation that had occurred at the party pushed veteran to the breaking point and as an unfortunate outcome his former friend lost his life.
Very rarely nowadays do we get a chance to witness a case of a homicide that could be rationalized and justified but
