Introduction

With the holidays approaching, this is the time of year when millions of Americans have shopping on their minds. Everyone is scrambling to find the perfect present for their friends and loved ones. Christmas shopping is suppose to be fun and enjoyable, however, sometimes it can get frustrating with pushy crowds and long lines. It is also difficult for some people to find affordable gifts. Target is the answer to these holiday frustrations. Target offers a fun and festive retail store environment to shop all year round and it is just as special during the holiday season with its spacious store layout and large selection of products. For those who prefer the convenience of online shopping, they can avoid Christmas crowds all together and shop at www.target.com. There is something for everyone at Target including seasonal items, toys, jewelry & accessories, stationary, cameras, phones, automotive accessories, music, movies, and books.

Millions of people choose to shop at Target because it is a retail firm that offers cleanliness, convenience and affordability. Target offers compelling prices with in-stock reliability on an assortment of products. Many of Target's biggest fans jokingly refer to the store as "Tar-ZHAY", as though it were a French word. This word is a reference to its more upscale image compared to its competitors. There is also a Target operating as a department store under the same logo and a similar style in Australia with over 150 stores. Coles Myer owns the brand in Australia. However, Target does not and never has operated stores outside of the United States (Rowley, 2003).
