The Internet has created a revolution in every area of modern life. Education is no exception, and now there are not only traditional classes as we usually learn but also online classes. These two educational styles have the same goal: to educate and train students having good skills about everything, but there are some significant differences between them that presented below.
The first difference between them is the equipment. The basic requirement for taking an online class is access to a computer with Internet access. For online courses with a video element, high-speed Internet connections are often required, although many courses can be accessed through a dial-up connection. Many online classes require students to have email accounts for submitting assignments and receiving feedback. In contrast, the equipment for a traditional class is very simple, a traditional class doesn't need modern equipment as an online class, just has a classroom with tables, desks, chairs and a blackboard.
One more difference between an online class and a traditional class is the methods. Online classes frequently schedule real-time discussion sections among participants by either voice or text chat. One online learning environment has created a virtual campus within the environment of Second Life, where student avatars interact with one another, moreover, some independent traditional courses are similar to online courses in that students pace themselves and submit assignments on their own schedules, either by hard copy or sometimes by email, so search and type is the most activity in these classes. However, the methods of classes are very simple; teachers explain to students by using chalk on the blackboard, students reply by handing and speaking directly, so listen is the most activity in class.
The final and most significant difference between an online class and a traditional class is the time. No set time is established for when and where you work. Courses are accessible from any computer, and usually twenty-four hours a day or study anywhere you can. In contrast, with a traditional class, you must go to class every day, you have a schedule and set times are established. In general, your time is not as flexible as an online class.
In conclusion, there are many differences between an online class and a traditional class, the equipment, the time, and the methods are three main differences between them. Whatever class you take part in,
