Online education has many benefits; one of the biggest ones is that it allows anyone anywhere to get an education. In 1999, Mark Bonner of PricewaterhouseCoopers said, "Online learning will rapidly become one of the most cost-effective ways to educate the world's expanding workforce." Never were words more true. Online education caters to students fresh out of high school pursuing their degree or diploma; as well people who already have a full-time job and who want to either further their current career, or change careers. This type of education is convenient, customized for each individual, and saves students time and money; not to mention it is environmentally friendly too.

Some may be studying subjects to enhance their current career, some may be trying to change careers, while others may have a technical diploma and would like a degree in their field. Since online education can be done at the student's pace and at their convenience, many of these students find that their hobbies need not go to the wayside while going to school. For example, a student who enjoys kayaking can still enjoy this during the day and then study at night. Shyness affects many people and online education allows those
