Otherness is the "other" people outside of ourselves that we go out to discover that is different and distant from the anthropologist's own native history. More so this term is the difference between the American/ the social norms that we are accustomed to, that we believe is the dominant and "correct" culture. Other is just another term to stereotype and discriminate against another group that doesn't uphold to our standards and social constructs.
