Personal Statement
The worst thing that can happen to anyone is seeing their loved ones suffer. The worst experience of my life was when I was younger when I had to experience my mother being beaten by my father. Having to see this horrible act of my father made me realize that one-day I will not want to follow his footprint. I want to be someone way better then him, someone who will respect women no matter what.
Time has pass and I can still remember everything like it was yesterday. Everyday when I wake up I thank God that my mother raised me to be different, to be good and to respect everyone specially women. I’ve learned from his mistakes and until today I’m still learning so I don’t commit the same mistakes he committed. He did not once respect my mother, he mistreated her and disrespect her so much and in so many ways.
As a young boy, I remembered I was very aggressive because of my father’s aggressions. I also remember him beating me for nothing. He came home drunk and began to beat everyone. My mother and I suffered a lot in his hands. I’ve always tried to protect my mother and from that experience she told me I will be better than him with no doubt.
I will never forget the visits to the Psychologist. It wasn’t one psychologist that spoke with me; it was around 10 because I really needed the help. They helped me get through that difficult situation I was in. Getting their help was one of the greatest decision of my life because they helped me become who am today, a man who struggle to do great in everything I put my mind into and not only that but to respect everyone around me and to have compassion.
“Nothing last forever”. When I was 12 years old my mother and my father separated. It was one of the best things that happened to me and to her. When they separated, my mother dedicated all of her time educating me to do great in school. Everything I’m today is all thanks to her. I became a better version of her and my grades in school were excellent.
From this experience I’ve learned to value a woman. Women are to be respected and loved. Women are gifted from God to humanity. I no longer try to fight to be better than my father because I am proud enough to say today I am better than him. Woman is to cherish and make them happy,
