OVIEDO POLICE INFO
Chief Drago joined the Oviedo Police Department in March 2004 after serving the City Of Fort Lauderdale, Florida for 29 years. He rose through the ranks and retired in 2004 as Assistant Chief of Police. He has a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute Command Officers School.
The Chief is a police instructor certified by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission and has trained thousands of police officers in domestic violence, stalking and drug investigations. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors with the Girls and Boys Town of Central Florida and an active member of the International Chiefs of Police Association, Florida Police Chiefs Association, Seminole County Law Enforcement Association, and Leadership Seminole Alumni.
Joan Sampson is the Senior Administrative Assistant to Chief Charles Drago.
Joan Sampson has been with the Oviedo Police Department since September, 1997. Prior to coming to the Police Department, Joan Sampson worked in the private sector for a major corporation for fifteen years.

The Adminsitrative Services Division is managed by Commander Ron Jacobs.
Commander Jacobs began his law enforcement career in October, 1972 at the Orlando Police Department. After a twenty-five year career there he was hired by the Oviedo Police Department in January, 1998 as the training lieutenant. As the training lieutenant, Commander Jacobs coordinated the efforts of the Department in becoming State Accredited. Commander Jacobs has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, a Master of Science Degree in Management from Rollins College and a graduate of the 204th session of the FBI National Academy. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Oviedo.

Training
The Training Section is supervised by Lt. George Ilemsky. Lt. Ilemsky has been with the Oviedo Police Department since 1986. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. He is an FDLE certified instructor and teaches firearms, use of force, defensive tactics and is a Master Taser Instructor. LT. Ilemsky is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Southern Police Institute. He also is an adjunct instructor at the University of Phoenix. The Training Section is responsible for the training of new officers as well as in-service training for all current officers. Lt. Ilemsky is also the lead recruiter for the Department.

Records Section
The Oviedo Police Departments Records handles all the reports generated by the officers on the streets. The section is important because it contains documentation that is both public record and confidential.

Crime Analysis
The Oviedo Police Department has just started its Crime Analysis Unit on October 7, 2005. Liz Seiltgen is the appointed Crime Analyst. She has been with the Oviedo Police Department since August 2002 working in various capacities.

Communications
The Communications Division is responsible for handling all incoming calls to the police department. These calls include 9-1-1, emergency, and non-emergency calls for service. In addition, the communications center handles all radio traffic and monitors numerous mutual aid frequencies.
