Clash?
Culture clash always occur in our common life. This ranges from minor family disputes between the children and their parents to the great events such as playing fire-crackers in Chinese New Year. In many cases these clashes were also treating as offence by law. Our country is a free society and our government respects humanÐŽ¦s right of everybody. This is written in the constitution law. But there is the problem of diversity. Many people in this country are emigrants from other countries and they possess different culture which is different from that of the natives. Sometimes these cultures may be conflict with the law. Take for example, Chinese has the habit for emitting fire-crackers in their New Year but as it do cause harms and nuisance to other citizens, it is gradually abolished both in our country and in many other cities of the world. Muslims has the culture that men can marry 4 women at the same time. But this is not allowed in law in many countries. Therefore, in my opinion, when culture clashes, we should first consider in the point of law and public interest. We should consider its right or wrong based on its influence on the public and whether it is violated with the law. No one can use culture deviance as an excuse to commit crime. Although we should respect each others culture, it is by no mean that we should sacrifice the justice of the law and the public safety to these culture clashes. In fact, there were people who use these types of cultural problems as an excuse for their mal-practice. The best reaction is that the law should apply full force on these norms if it did caused harms or inconvenience to others.
