People Like Us

In People Like Us, David Brooks suggests that maybe America isnЎЇt as diverse as we all say it is. That maybe no one really cares about diversity as much as they claim to. And, he may be right. Have you ever been to a school cafeteria? People group together into different racial and social groups. ItЎЇs more comfortable to be around people similar to us, and comfort is what America is all about.

ItЎЇs human nature to want to be around people similar to us. Some wise man once said ÐŽoBirds of a feather flock togetherÐŽ±, and he was right. Housing prices create very different neighborhoods, the rich hang out with the rich and the poor hang out with the poor. This is just the way it is.

Is this a bad thing? I donЎЇt really think so. If it is, there is really only one solution I could come up with. We create one ÐŽoSuper RaceÐŽ±. The government issues a law. You must marry and reproduce with someone of a different race. Example- Say, you are a white male. You have to find an Asian or African American woman to have kids with. Over time, maybe a century, with enough reproduction, we will all become one race.

Problem solved.

Now, onto some other ideas IЎЇve had. The other day I thought up this idea to create a Haunted Hotel. Imagine this, itЎЇs like a haunted house but its actually a hotel where you stay all night. The faucets turn on without warning, the TVs snap on and flash scary images, the shower sprays out red water. Also, there could be a motorized knocker on the door. The door knocks, but no one is ever there. You could create T-shirts people will wear after making it through an entire night- you know, ÐŽoI survived the Haunted HotelÐŽ±. People would eat this shit up. Trust me, its genius.

Next, lets discuss another idea I had the other day. You know how bars sometimes offer a specialty? Alright, its called the ÐŽoBeer and PopcornÐŽ± special. You get a beer and a bag of popcorn. A real bag of popcorn, steaming, right out of the microwave. Hot food is good with beer. Hot, buttery popcorn and a cold beer. And the popcorn comes in a authentic bag, like Pop Secret or something. It would be a hit, an instant success. YouЎЇd be seeing the shit on
