THEME: Even though something isn't seen doesn't mean it doesn't exist

I KNOW some lonely houses off the road

A robber ’d like the look of,вЂ"

Wooden barred,

And windows hanging low,

Inviting to

A portico,

I know some houses, there off the road, theyd be easy to break into. The windows are low and inviting to a thief.

Where two could creep:

One hand the tools,

The other peep

To make sure all ’s asleep.

Old-fashioned eyes,

Not easy to surprise!

Two could enter, one to use the tools and the other to keep watch and make sure everyone is asleep.

How orderly the kitchen ’d look by night,

With just a clock,вЂ"

But they could gag the tick,

Ð' Ð' Ð' Ð' Ð' Ð' Ð' Ð' 15

And mice won’t bark;

And so the walls don’t tell,

None will.

The kitchen must look beautiful at night, with it empty and clean. There’s no noise but the tick of a clock, its not not like mice bark or walls talk.

A pair of spectacles ajar just stirвЂ"

An almanac’s aware.

Was it the mat winked,

Or a nervous star?

The moon slides down the stair

To see who ’s there.

Are those glasses moving? Is that almanac? Did the mat just move? The moonlights shining down the stairs, lighting up whoever is there.
