Polygraph the Enemy of Forensic Psychlogist

Imagine walking home from school with your best friend, and out of nowhere you see a criminal wanted by the police shooting your mom. The criminal runs away and hands the gun to your best friend. The police come and see the gun in your best friend's hand. She/he is accused of the crime. Going to court them do they polygraph test by a Forensic Psychologist to see if your best friend is lying and the scheme comes out to be positive. Your best friend get sentence for life for a crime she/he did not do. You are not able to prove that the scheme is wrong. How would you feel? Most importantly what would you do to prove her innocence? This is what happens most of the times. People you love get access of a crime they did not do, but you cannot prove nothing or go against the law. Forensic Psychologist should not have the right to use polygraph to conclude if a person is a criminal or not.
Polygraph ("lie detector") defines polygraph as: "A polygraph is an instrument that simultaneously records changes in physiological processes such as heartbeat, blood pressure, respiration and electrical resistance (galvanic skin response or GSR)." (par. 1). It is commonly known as a lying detector or an examine they do to you to see if you are saying the truth or if you are lying base on your reactions to certain relevant, comparison, control, irrelevant, or concealed information questions. There are many types of polygraph test psychologist, police officers, and judges can do to you. There is the Control Question Test (CQT), The Directed Lie Test (DLT), and The Guilty Knowledge Test (GKT). Most Forensic Psychologist used the GKL test." This test compares physiological responses to multiple-choice type questions about the crime, one choice of which contains information only the crime investigators and the criminal would know about" ("Polygraph par.4").
Many times the polygraph scheme that Forensic Psychologist takes from people may be true. Like for example the investigation the Centre of Research and Education in Forensic Psychology (CORE-FP) did for two years. They conducted to an investigation see if the pilot was saying the true about abusing people. It was a total succeed to know that their investigation was wright thanks to the help of the polygraph ("Navigation Menu par.")
