- Mid-Term Test: Multiple Choice Questions (30%)
A mid-term test will be given during Week 3 tutorial. It consists of 30 multi-choice questions and will cover lecture topics from Weeks 1 to 2. Students are expected to complete all the questions within one hour.
- Individual Tutorial Presentation (20%)
- Each student will be assigned a tutorial question.
- Each student will be given 10 minutes to present the tutorial answers.
- The tutor will inform the student on the scheduled dates for his/her presentation.
- Students will be assessed according to the criteria listed on Appendix 3 which will serve as the cover page.
- Presenters are required to use Microsoft PowerPoint for their presentations. The PowerPoint slides must be printed and attached with printout format of 6-slide in a page. The presentation slides should not more than 6 slides or 1 page.
- Group Written Assignment (50%)
Requirements
Select a company in the Malaysian consumer market for analysis and write a report on the following topics:
- Background of the company
- Marketing Mix: Product, Place, Price, and Promotion
- Recommendations
Instructions to students
- Form into groups of 4 to 5 students in each group.
- Write a report of between 12 to 13 pages (excluding Table of Contents, References and Appendices). A penalty of 2% will be imposed on reports exceeding 15 pages.
- Assignment is to be typed in font size 12pt, Times New Roman. 1.5 spacing and Justify for text align on A4 size papers.
- All pages must be paginated consecutively using Arabic numerals (e.g., 1, 2, 3, etc) including appendices and printed at the bottom centre of the page.
- Appendices: copies of articles must be attached to the report.
- Use the Harvard Referencing System.
- The written assignment must be submitted during the second tutorial session of Week 5.
- A softcopy of the assignment in CD format must be submitted together with the written assignment.
- Students will receive the feedback on their assignment during week 7.
- Students are required to submit their original work and avoid any plagiarism. Students are required to sign a declaration that the work submitted is their own work and that they have not in any way knowingly allow another student to copy it. It will be assumed that all submitted work is that of the students’ own work.
- Students are also required to submit their work on to the SafeAssign and attach the result outcome to their assignment. Before submitting your completed assignment, you are required to check your written work with the SafeAssign available on CeL. The SafeAssign Report Summary percentage for your written work should not exceed 15%. Revise or rewrite your work to ensure your group meets this requirement. If the percentage exceeds 15%, 10 marks will be deducted from the total marks of the written work.

Additional Information
- The marked assignment will not be returned but coursework marks with feedback will be released during Week 7.
- Penalty for late submission: Any assignment submitted after the due date without an approved extension, will be penalised.
- Late submission 1-3 days after the stipulated deadline: Maximum marks capped at 50%.
- Late submission 3-7 days after the stipulated deadline: Reject and fail the coursework with 0 marks.
- No coursework shall be accepted 7 calendar days after the deadline.
