THE CHAIRMAN

Good afternoon dear friends! We're glad to see all of you today! Thank you very much for your coming. Would you like to listen to a very interesting speech? I hope you do.

Today, we're going to discuss a very important subject; it is about dependence on electronic devices. As you know, today everybody uses mobile phones, computers, iPod, etc. but we have never concerned about it. Especially young people have so strong dependence that they forget about real time, friends, family and something important things, and today this electronic inventions are so popular, that people can't live without it, that's why it's a great problem of our generation. And now, we're going to focus on this problem.

Kristina will tell you about bed influence of your devices. By the way, she is a mother and she has a baby daughter, that's why this problem is very important for Kristina, because today's children use electronic devices in their life very often. To my mind she is a very good speaker. You know, Kristina always has a lot of interesting to say, and she will help us to analyze the situation. Now, I'd like to invite you to give the warmest welcoming to our speaker. Kristina, you're welcome!

THE SPEAKER

Today I want to tell you about the biggest problem of our generation it is dependence on electronic devices.

I consider, that everyone noticed their dependence on cell phone, computer or internet. Every morning begins from checking mobile phone, because very a lot of people go to sleep with them. It is so hard to start doing something, because you cannot come off from the screen of laptop. You feel diffidence if you forget mobile phone at home and return back because it is impossible to spent one day without this wonderful invention. We always think that all these electronic invention help us to cope with our routine business, but usually it takes more time than if we try do it without them. Of course this "mates" make our life easier, but man's dependence on them has increased so much that we just cannot do without them at all. I want to say that if you have problems functioning, focusing and concentrating at work, you can now blame e-mail and other "productivity tools" for making you stupid.

By reason, we can add a new word in our vocabulary - infomania.

"infomania" means the loss of concentration caused by the constant electronic interruptions, such as telephone, e-mail, text messages and dependence to check our mobile, social networks, laptop, in hope, "to discover" a message.

According to a recent British study, excessive day-to-day use of technology and instant messaging can be more distracting and harmful to you than smoking.

As part of this study, researchers also conducted 1,100 telephone interviews where the results indicated that 62 percent of adults "are literally addicted to checking e-mail
