It was quite interesting and educational reviewing the Graduate Business and Management Program Map. The competetencies from different domains to be discussed in this paper will be-General Management: analyzing the challenges and opportunity presented by change, explaining effective leadership techniques for use with in an organization and, Law and Ethics: evaluating the role of individual values in organizational decision making.

Analyzing the Challenge and Opportunities Presented by Change

The development of this competency will be valued in my plan for the future because everybody likes to spout their wisdom about trends for the future. We are entering into a world that is doubly difficult-on how to command new technologies, new consumers, new markets, and the only certainty is change. We no longer exist in a small world. Every aspect of live is becoming larger and more complex. Doing business is no longer business as usual; it has evolved into quick change, quick response, and quick results. Changes are coming to us at a rapid pace, and fortunately, some of those changes represent opportunities. Recognizing opportunities has become today's question. Acting on those opportunities has become tomorrow's challenge. Opportunities are no longer just local, they are now global.

Explaining Effective Leadership Techniques for Use with In an Organization

The goal of a leader is to develop a plan to achieve the dream. A leader combines the vision and curiosity of a dreamer with the practical engineering of a builder. A leader is a goal directed, looking forward with anticipation toward the attainment of goals. Goals give meaning and purpose to life and serve as a continuous source of motivation in the pursuit of all activities.
