I read the book Proof by David Auburn; it was about a young girl named Catherine who spent her years caring for her father and mastering mathematics and science. I choose this book because I love to do mathematics and to learn about the world of science. I can also relate a lot to Catherine, because my mother has a mental illness, just like Catherine's Brilliant, but crazy father.
David Auburn was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1969, and raised in Ohio, Arkansas. He also wrote the book The Journals of Mihail Sebastian. He also started out writing Proof as a play, which was a big hit in broad way. Later on he turned the play into a book. He has received a Guggenheim fellowship and, for Proof the Kesselring prize. Which he dedicated to Benjamin Auburn (1972-2000). David Auburn currently lives in Brooklyn, New York
I Think David Auburn was suited to write about this topic because growing up as a young child his dad was a real-life physicist, so he knew a lot about this topic, which helped inspire him to write this amazing play and book.

One page Analysis Proof
Proof is a book about a young woman who had taken care of her mathematician father for several years, prior to his death due to his mental illness. She now cannot only deal with her father's death but her estranged sister, Claire. Who Catherine had never gotten a long with and hasn't been seen by Catherine in the last five years. Hal a former student of Catherine's father, Robert is now hoping to find valuable work in the one hundred and three notebooks that were left behind. Now Catherine is going through a hard time, falling for Hal and dealing with her sister. The hardest question for Catherine is to figure out how much of her father's intellectual side has she inherited, or is she just plain crazy? Catherine is brilliant more than anyone had realized, she had proven a hypothesis that no one has ever done. This was a wonderful book I recommend this to all adults and young adults to read about drama.
