Image Analysis

Second Draft

Needs and wants, advertising companies spend hundreds of man hours and millions of dollars figuring out how to appeal to these consumers. In my two advertisements many needs are appealed to subconsciously through the images and people shown. If a company wants to appeal to the needs of the an overall populous, they would most likely devise a multi-cultural ad to best suit the masses, if an young age group is the target of the advertisement then company might differ too young children to have a greater appeal overall. Smiling and surround by peers as to show that "buy this and this could be you".

In the first ad a group of young girls all sitting and standing around, all with milk mustaches. This appeals to the need of affiliation. While the boy head is high, raised above the girls in a protective way, both catching the attention of the boy looking for a weak girl to call his own, or a girl looking for a guy who will take care and protect her.

The second ad I chose pictures a mother and daughter. In the kitchen, the daughter is leaning over the mother at a table. In a way making it look like she is caring or giving advice t the mother. I believe that this ad's appeal is towards the demographic that have a need of nurture. When a father is old and weak, the strong and young son is supposed to take care of both his mental of physical health. This ad is just that, a young daughter is helping her old mom by providing a glass of milk. Nurturing
