Psychology is the scientific study of the way the mind works based on people's behavior and emotions. Through these studies we find out more and more about our ourselves and how our mind can control our actions. If we think outside of these theories applying logic but doubting obvious reasons we would be using philosophy. Philosophy is the rational investigation of questions about existence, knowledge and ethics by thinking "outside of the box." Rather than using logic and analytical thought to determine theories, psychology uses scientific methods of research to observe, define, and change human behavior.

Psychology is used for many different reasons around us every day. When people are feeling depressed or anxious they go to therapy to help them become more productive, motivated and to help them overcome issues that limit their potential. It is helpful to children, individuals, couples and families. Social workers are specific psychologist that works with families to help improve their way of life. Forensic psychology review crime scenes for evidence and patterns to study the behavior of the criminals and prevent other crimes from happening. Children in schools often go to their school psychologist when they are having problems with their families or other children.

Psychology affects us in our daily life in many ways we might not even notice. If we could understand the way our mind works we could prevent ourselves from making mistakes, regretting our actions, or even feeling pain. Our mental state can induce illness or lead us to recovery, just by altering the way we think. Every action we have has a reaction, like the reactive mind, every image, smell, or sound can trigger something in your head based on a memory or experience from the past. By just changing your attitude in a situation you can change the out come of any situation. If you have a negative attitude towards something the outcome will be negative, but if you have a positive outlook you can create something you didn't even think existed.

Ever since I was younger psychology has played a role in my life. Ever since kindergarten I've been doing experiments by making a hypothesis and observing, which are two key elements to psychology.
