Self-assessment is a process by which you learn more about yourself -- what you like, what you don't like, and how you tend to react to certain situations. Knowing these things can help you determine which occupations and work situations could be a better fit for you. You may recognize some of these tools if you ever worked with a career or consultant.

You are most likely to succeed in life if you use your talents to their fullest extent. Meaning knowing full well what are your capabilities and your shortcomings in handling challenges presented in career and working environment.

Basing on this view, I personally prefer to utilize the use of SWOT analysis in order to determine and to specifically assess my qualities and skills as an individual and hence further in this report I would then choose and base my career choice depending on the result of this following analysis that I would do to assess my individual skill and competencies.

What makes SWOT especially powerful is that, with a little thought, it can help you uncover opportunities that you would not otherwise have spotted. And by understanding your weaknesses, you can manage and eliminate threats that might otherwise hurt your ability to move forward.

If you look at yourself using the SWOT framework, you can start to separate yourself from your peers, and further develop the specialized talents and abilities you need to advance your career.

Strengths

I'm very creative. I often impress people with a new perspective

I communicate well with other people.

I have the ability to ask key questions to find just the right marketing angle.

I'm completely committed to the achieving goal.

I have the ability to persist on any challenges I face.

I am very goal oriented individual

I am a team leader with the ability to fully utilize everyone in my group of people

Weaknesses

I have a strong, compulsive need to do things quickly and remove them from my "to do" list, and sometimes the quality of my work suffers as a result.

This same need to get things done also causes me stress when I have too many tasks.

I have the compulsive need to push myself to finish what I started and sometimes it can overburden myself with pressure

I always expected my team to give their best effort without being reasonable with what effort they might have presented during the work

Opportunities

I am currently undertaking the MBA major in order to improve my ability and understanding how management really works, and this will definitely provide me with an advantage with my future job preferences.

I'm attending a major marketing conference next month. This will allow for strategic networking, and also offer some great training seminars.

I have been helping some business people from my home country in order to translate during their business trip in China, in order to give myself more experience and hence provide me huge opportunity in my future

Threats

The job competition in the current age is very very tight and competitive.

More individuals with excellent resume and with the knowledge of languages are starting to crowd in the management department in my home country.

The current economic climate has resulted in slow growth for the management industry. Many firms have laid off staff members, and our company is considering further cutbacks.

A SWOT matrix is a framework for analyzing your strengths and weaknesses as well as the opportunities and threats that you face. This helps you focus on your strengths, minimize your weaknesses, and take the greatest possible advantage of opportunities available to you

Judging from the analysis that I have made to assess my personal skills and qualities, I can conclude that I would be very well suited for management job which requires team work and I can definitely see my self managing a group of goal oriented people in order to achieve a goal that will treat each and every individual a better prospect for their future.

From the weakness analysis, I can conclude and definitively try to improve and manage my weaknesses in order to turn it into my advantages , such as I have to teach myself to be more meticulous in details during any job presented to me and I will start making sure that every job and projects that will be presented to me will be handled with precision.

After I did the personal SWOT analysis, now I will use a different method in order to determine the path of my choosing utilizing this sets of key points:

Define your skills, values, and personal characteristics;

Target opportunities that match your talents and interests;

I consider myself a very achievement oriented individual because I can always establishes challenging short-and long-term goals, I manage to take initiative, persists at tasks and pursues completion of objectives.

I manage to always build up the courage to make reasonable risks. I try my hardest to try overcoming obstacles and resistance to change. And I love to engages in healthy competition

As for my Interpersonal skills, I manage to always do my best to resolve any given conflict in positive ways. I am forcing myself to give and seek feedback that will increase the productivity of relationships with my team and anyone in my working environment. Deal with the diverse behavior of others in groups in order to increase the group's productivity. Maintaining and always try to enhance the self-esteem of others. Recognizes strengths and limitations of self and others.

I also consider myself a Job Motivated person,

I take pride and satisfaction in completing my job or responsibility and try to assume ownership for getting the job done. I am very enthusiastic about taking on challenging projects. Goal oriented; concerned with achievement & doing better.
