Subject: Descriptive Summary
The following is a report that defines and the problems of UCHSC classified employee hours being unaccounted for and undocumented. This report also makes recommendations on ways to better document when an employee is at work and when they are not present.
Currently there is no form of documentation for classified employees of University of Colorado Health Sciences to hold them accountable for their hours.
In the following report I show research and examples to institute my recommendation of a digital time clock with fingerprint scan to correctly identify when employees are present and when they aren't

Executive Summary
Summary of this Report
1. State the problem of the lack of proof that a classified employee fills their required forty hour work week
2. Show data of current financial loss due to unaccounted for overtime hours and unused time in a regular work week.
3. Offer recommendations and data to show costs and efficiency of recommended solution.
Currently there are over 50 UCHSC classified staff members who request overtime hours weekly with no proof or documentation that they are present at said time. In addition there is currently no efficient way to prove that an employee spent the full eight hours at their assigned areas.
This report shows graphical info and background as to the amount of useful work time and money is lost due to leaving early or unproved overtime. This report also states my recommendation of a sophisticated time clock and its implementation costs reliability and usefulness to avoiding unused work time and excessive overtime.
Data and Research
Data of monthly overtime requests and supervisor documentation of employees leaving before eight hours without leave request will show the need for digital documentation of hours for proper use of work hours and vacation and sick leave.
My Findings and Recommendations
Due to the findings of severe misuse of work time, my recommendation is to institute the Kronos Time Clock Management System to accurately track employee attendance and cut back on overuse of overtime payment.

Introduction
One seeming constant of the UCHSC is the annual budget cuts and restraints. In our current political climate there is a trend towards taking money away from science and research. Part of the parts that encompass Science and Research are the support staff needed to keep the researchers functioning and succeeding. Among the many cut back the university receives each year is to the budget of facilities and other classified employee departments. With the lack of finances becoming more and more of an issue we must be able to identify problem areas and efficiently solve these problems to save money.
One of the major problems currently affecting the classified employee budget is the misuse of overtime and not using all eight hours a day. Currently undocumented overtime is costing Facilities Operations Department alone $228,000 a year.
