Referencing Is Widely Used in Academic Community

Referencing is widely used in academic community to show where all theories,facts, ideas come from to support your academic task like assignments, essays etc. The information which you used in your academic work has to be correctly acknowledged, so plagiarism and academic theft can be avoided .If you referencing your work correctly , that gives you a credit to the sources and authors you have used to support your assignment. System which you should used to support your research is called Harvard Referencing. The information which you have to referencing includes :Theories,ideas, music,summaries ,quotations and others forms of data.
Four methods of research are websites, books, journals and newspapers.
The first method is referencing from websites . Websites are a good source of information for research projects as they provide a vast range of information. The correct way to reference from a website is to have the author first, the date written, the title of the article, the date it was accessed and finally the website itself.
Another method is referencing from books. Books are a good source of information which can be accessed easily at a library or purchased. Books are normally accurate with the information it contains as they have been looked at by a publisher and also reviewed by critics, which can help recommend a useful book for the research project. The correct way to reference from a book is the surname and initial of the author, the date of publication, and the title of the book in italics, the edition, place of publication and finally the publisher.
The third method of referencing is journals, these are similar to websites. Journals are generally up to date on the subject that is being researched, and will cover recent topics that are being discussed in the news and that people are researching. The correct way to reference from a journal is the surname of the author or authors, the year of publication, the title of the article, the title of the journal, the volume number, the issue number and the first and last pages of the article.
The final method is referencing from newspapers. The positives and negatives of newspapers are similar to that of websites and journals. Newspapers are updated everyday and cover recent topics.
