Consequences of the young teenager and how it is recognized by the health care providers and the problems that effect the social, physical, and economic situation. They had a focus group and took data from three schools in Louisiana, and looked at each stage of the pregnancy and how they were developing and taking care of themselves.
Patricia Coleman, "Resolution of Unwanted Pregnancy During Adolescence Through Abortion Versus Childbirth: Individual and Family Predictors and Psychological Consequences," Journal of Youth & Adolescence (Dec 2006) Vol. 35 Issue 6 pg. 903-911. The different problems the teenagers face if they keep the baby or abort the baby, they looked at the effects at both decisions. The teenagers that kept the baby had mostly financial struggle and the ones that aborted the baby had to deal with psychological problems throughout their life.

Many pre-teens that are sexual activity go unnoticed unless there is a problem with the pre-teen, that problem is usually pregnancy. The article states that pre-teens have sexuality and roles of sexuality in their life at some point or another, but the family does not want to believe that this could happen in their family, so they try not to talk about it unless the child brings it up because the parents feels uncomfortable talking about sexual relationships.

They looked at condom use, pregnancy, and different STD's rates among teenagers. They looked at the involvement of the parents in the teenager's life they found that it is less likely the teenager will engage in risky behavior if the parents are involved.
