"Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?" For decades and decades and still even in the present, the term 'marriage' has been only a heterosexual term through legislation and most religions. However past traditions are changing especially with marriage. Whether or not Same sex marriage should be legal has become a big debate for Canada and the U.S. Religions should not be the reason why homosexuals cannot marry. Socially they should be accepted and not discriminated against, for they are humans to. Legally homosexual couples should have the right to marry and share their love. Same sex marriage should be legal and accepted everywhere.

By definition same sex marriage is marriage between two homosexuals. It has been unaccepted and illegal for many years. Also not everyone in the world follows the same religion, many religions such as the united way, accept and celebrate homosexual marriages. It is not justified to argue against same sex marriage by using religion as a defense. "War. Rape. Murder. Poverty. Equal rights for gays. Guess which one of the southern Baptist convention is protesting?" This quote is very true, religious beliefs are usually about doing the right thing within their community, it is very frustrating how many religions put so much time and effort into the argument
