During my lifetime, it has become the age of computers. The 21st century has been known for its ever advancing technology, such as phones, TV's and video games, and as an artist, it's an interesting world to explore.
I love art and all of it's mediums, so my plan is to major in the Digital Arts. As expected by being an artist, I do get the questions," Why that major? Is that even a real job option?" and it makes sense. I'm not as familiar with digital design as I am with drawing or painting, but ever since I was at a young age, I've always enjoyed cartoons and video games. I unintentionally pay attention to the tiny details of these animations and they truly fascinate me, so I find it necessary to learn the craft. Today, technology is crucial to almost every profession, so it wouldn't hurt to join in on the adventure.
According to my future degree, this combination of art and media leaves me with numerous job options. I could be an animator; helping make the newest cartoon, a game artist; putting a hand in creating the new installment of Halo, or even a layout artist; mapping out the scenery of a game or animated movie. These careers sound extremely exciting to me and my artistic skills lean towards these options, which I'm all for.
So far, I haven't done much art in the technology region. I've made two shirt designs and touched them up on the computer, which was pretty cool. Those were my only glimpses of media art, but they were fun and made me more eager to learn other trades like it. Besides, tech will always be incorporated somehow in today's world.
Technology is forever moving foreword, and art is right along with it. With my need to help create new things, there's no doubt that technology will be needed. My future is bright and I expect this new exciting medium to be there.
