Should students get homework?
Hello, fellow opposing team, and team members. I think students
should get homework because it helps build learning skills, it is a stepping stone, and it
is family bonding time.
Homework helps build learning skills because it teaches you time management
skills which you will need in the future. If you have a after school program, or you have
to go somewhere you would have to set a schedule in a way which you can do a after
school program, and get your homework done at the sametime. By setting a schedule
you are learning responsibility, and citizenship because let’s say somebody didn’t do
their homework and went to class the next day, probably the teacher would have a
follow up activity on that, and now the student who didn’t do their homework is behind
everybody else.
Homework is also a stepping stone to success because when you get in high
school you are going to have a chunk of homework for almost every subject. It also
teaches you how to use resources like internet, the library, and asking your family
members because when you get in highschool you are not going to have time to know
which sites are trustworthy and which are not. Being independent is a big part of being
successful in the future. When you get homework and need help with it you could ask
your parents for help, go on a device and email your teacher, or get help from the
internet which we all have access to in this generation.
Family time and family bonding is a very important for a child’s success, as it
brings families closer. You could ask your parents for help when you need or just to
