Simple Living is an act of living a life by buying and consuming needs that is only necessary, and it does not harm others, except be respectful to others and to it resources. To consume things and use things without wasting any of it is the main idea around simple living.
To truly perform simple living, you must concentrate your money on the necessities and not too much on the accessories. To have a car is a convenience and not something that is always needed, that is why a car was cut from the budget. Commuting is a better way because gas is not over consumed by the car. Having life and health insurance is very important to a family, it is for the greater good to everyone, since the kids are 6, 9, and 11, and they are still in their premature stage, many things they do, they will not consider to be dangerous or put any thought into it, therefore if anything happens the insurance can help them in situations. Charity is an act of sharing to the community for the greater good and to have common goods and it can help others who are less fortunate than you are. Also buying gifts and giving them to others is another way of sharing, showing appreciation and recognizing someone. The hardest thing to decide was whether or not to send the kids to a private or public school, but spending money to send kids to a private school doesn't ensure better learn environments. It may not be any different if they went to a public school. Spending money on accessories is not a subject to be concentrated, a lot of the accessories are just items that satisfy unnecessary needs, not much of the budget is used to buy any of the items especially when there is $4,184 left from the budget. Having quite a few leftover of money does not mean to use the rest of it on vacation or any miscellaneous, spending a little on vacation is fine, vacation is suppose to be a short time off from all modern day routines, but to get away from it and enjoy life for a few days. Buying food to survive is a major key to living, you don't need to buy food that does not do any good for you, like candy and any type of junk food. Resisting those foods that do no good for health can help save money and have that money to spend on food that is nutritious and keeps a person healthy. Food probably cost as much or half of what a house or apartment cost. But having food is a responsibility, to have self-defense of not over consuming the goods to deprive others of it.
