Simpson Sisters

Most of us have never been booed off stage in front of a live T.V. audience or been called a ditzy blonde because we don't know our animals; but Jessica and Ashlee Simpson have experienced both. These sisters are portrayed as opposites, and to an extent this is true. They each have their own musical styles and television shows. Jessica and Ashlee may share similar physical attributes, but both sisters are anything but alike.

Both sisters have their own musical styles. Jessica began singing when she was younger in her church choir. She soon discovered that singing Christian music wasn't as appealing as pop music, so she crossed over. Jessica has a very strong and powerful voice and is vocally wide-ranged. Ashlee on the other hand, has more of a raspy tone. She sings pop music with a bit of a punk-rock edge. Her live band accompanies her catchy tunes and boyfriend-based songs.

Jessica and Ashlee have both had their own television shows, but each one is different in its' own way. Jessica began filming a reality show, The Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, shortly after her marriage to fellow musician, Nick Lachey. The show was an instant hit and showed Jessica's ditzy blonde side. For example, she thought that buffalo's had actual wings and tuna fish was chicken. Meanwhile, little sister Ashlee launched her new show on MTV as well. Ashlee's show was a bit different. Instead of the camera's following her new married life, they documented her new musical career. It followed her through break-ups with boyfriends, her record signing, and her first headlining tour. It even captivated her embarrassing moments, on Saturday Night Live she was caught lip-synching when her hit song, "Pieces of me", began playing for a second time. Ashlee awkwardly did a jig and dashed off stage in embarrassment. To make matters worse, a few weeks later she hit a few wrong notes and was booed off stage at her half-time performance at the Orange Bowl. Since then, Ashlee has reappeared on SNL and proved she really is a talent.

While each sister has their own personal style preferences, they each share the same physical appearance and body structure. Jessica is tall and slim, with long blonde hair. Ashlee also shares the slender figure and blonde hair, when she's not trying to set herself apart from her sister. Early on in her career she dyed her blonde locks
