Persuasive Speech Outline

Have you ever thought of having another you? For most of you this may seem amusing, but for many this is a threat to their lives. As I was surfing through NCBI, National Center Biotechnology Information, I came across some stats on a disorder known as, Somnambulism. As I kept reading I found out this intricate word simply means, sleepwalking. So that is when I decided to do my topic on Somnambulism, or most of us would call it, sleepwalking.

I will be explaining to you some of the issues concerning cloning, such as the Health factors, the Emotional risks, ethically immoral, and lastly the cost.

First lets’ start out with the basics, what is cloning? Cloning is the creation of an organism that is an exact genetic copy of another.

Now lets look at the stages of sleep:

Stages of Sleep

Stage 1 (Drowsiness) - When you first fall asleep, you are in Stage 1. It usually lasts about 5 вЂ" 10 min. All your muscles start to relax.

Stage 2 (Light Sleep) - Next, you go into Stage 2 sleep (Light Sleep). In Stage 2, eye movements’ stop, heart rate slows, and body temperature decreases.

Stages 3 & 4 (Deep Sleep) вЂ" When you enter Stages 3 and 4 (Deep Sleep). It becomes difficult to wake someone up. Children may experience bedwetting, night terrors, or sleepwalking during Deep Sleep.

REM sleep (Dream Sleep) вЂ" It lasts about 70 to 90 minutes as you enter REM sleep. Your eyes jerk rapidly in various directions under your eyelids, that’s where the name Rapid Eye Movement (REM) came from.

Next, lets’ look at what causes sleepwalking. The usual cases of sleepwalking are most frequently caused by; sleep deprivation, medications, alcohol, stress, or even psychological problems.

Sleepwalkers may also inherit this disorder genetically. It most frequently occurs in identical twins, and is 10X more likely to occur if a first вЂ" degree relatives has a history of sleep walking. Sleepwalkers may be dangerous at times. As you try to bring them back into reality, they may even fight back.

Lastly, lets look at the treatments for this disorder. There is a medicine that can help cure this
