Computer software and programs are important tools that I use in my position of Account Manager and Team Lead in the Commuter Administration Services Department (CAS). On any given day, I will use at least 5 different programs or software applications. With the current versions that I am using at Ceridian Benefits Services, I expect to have 3 upgrades within the next 1 to 2 years.
As an Account Manager for the Reimbursement Accounts, I use the TransIT Legacy System, Crystal Reports, Lightning Fax, Lotus Applications, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Office 2003, Adobe Reader 7.0, Internet Explorer, and our web-based Enrollment Systems.
The main tool that is used each day is Outlook Express. This is my primary means of communication within my organization and with my clients. If a client has a question or issue they will contact me via email. I receive phone calls via I3 and my email account. If a voice message is left for me, I will receive an email with the message included. I also receive faxes via my outlook. The faxes are received via Lightning Fax and forwarded to me via email. I can then open and print the fax just like an email. This function saves a great deal of time since I no longer need to leave my desk to get a fax off the fax machine. I simply print the emails and faxes directly to my desktop printer. Once I have my fax or email, I can access the applicable system to complete the item.

The TransIT Legacy system is an ORACLE-based that enables me to administer my clients' reimbursement accounts and to process the reimbursements for the parking and transportation claims for their employees. Within this system there is reporting functionality that uses both Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat. I also use the SQL server to produce queries and status updates for the reimbursement schedules.
Reporting is an important part of my job in that I have to provide my clients' reports in Excel and/or PDF format. Depending on the system that I am processing in will determine if the report is provided in Excel or PDF. If I am using the TransIT Legacy system, most reports will be provided in PDF. There are a few clients who require their reports to be in Excel format. An additional part of our reporting capabilities is the process of creating queries in SQL to produce a requested range of data on a client's request. These requests are transferred into Excel prior to sending to the client. My clients also request election balance reports at each month's end to balance their records. These reports are created in the TransIT Legacy System and saved an Excel spreadsheet via Crystal Reports.
As an Account Manager for the Voucher/Fare Media accounts, the web is used by the online enrollment system. This enrollment system is accessed by using the internet. Once logged into the web, with a specific login we can access our client's accounts as well as the participant's accounts. We also have access to an administrative area for research and report creation. The report creation is done via Excel or PDF. There is also parking reimbursement accounts that are accessible online

with the same enrollment system. This online system is used by the client and the participants as well as the CAS team at Ceridian. If an issue arises within the TransIT Legacy System or the Online Enrollment System, research is done to resolve the issue.
The research done within the legacy system or the enrollment system may be for a participant's request for information or to research a participant's account for balancing. Ceridian uses Lotus Notes to track all research and development requests.
