Starbucks have already been recognized as a status symbol because it is a international industry and have a good reputation in the world, which means the quality of coffee and hygiene safety have achieve a international level. For this reason, people are more confident to taste the product from Starbucks but not other general Coffee shop. Also, it catered to Hong Kong people especially in the business area as a high class symbol to attract people buying its products.
Money Support
Starbucks is having a large money sources around the world. It has more ability to increase the quality, equipment in the retail, providing more training ,hiring more outstanding employee ,creating more new products, etc. Besides, Starbucks can hold more welfare on employee and guest.
On the other side, the main company of Starbucks can give financial support to Hong Kong Starbucks while it is in economic recession or other negative situation.
Flexibility
Although StarBucks is international industry, it doesn't mean it is lacking of local information cooperate to Hong Kong market .It is because Starbucks in Hong Kong are operated by the largest food industry(Maxim) in Hong Kong that make the policy is more flexible that easy to respond quickly to changes on external environment and gain more local supports.
