A process that has worked for me in the past is to allow each team member come up with their own strategy to the situation (if time allows). By implementing this procedure, it allows creativity to shine through, lets the employee express ideas, and also gives a sense of empowerment. We used this method on a group project in an internship that I served on overseas. Everyone brought something to the table and was given the respect to present their idea. After the presentation, group members discussed the idea and asked questions. Mind you, we were an international group of four students who came from different parts of the world and we all had our own ideas. We incorporated aspects of all of the ideas and came up with a solution that was headed for implementation in the company when our internship was over.

What we found in our group was that all of us, no matter where we came from, held different types of knowledge and information which us to a unique type of process that allowed the company to achieve its goals and reduce costs without impacting quality. Without the four of us sharing our experiences and knowledge, we would have never reached the conclusion that we did.
