Topic: Should Interracial Marriages Be Permitted?
Specific Purpose: To inform the class that interracial marriages cause more long term harm than good to all of those involved.
Thesis Statement: Interracial Marriages are increasing partly because of the black man becoming extinct, we should not partake in this because of the effects on the children born of this relationship and lastly because the black race is going backward.
Introduction:
Attention-getting material: "Almighty God created the races white, black, yellow, Malay and red, and he placed them on separate continents. The fact that he separated the races show that he did not intend for the races to mix" according to trail judge of the Virginia versus Lovings in Virginia in 1961. This black man and white women married and went to Virginia to live in 1961; they were prosecuted under a Virginia statue enacted in 1924 entitled "An Act to Preserve Racial Integrity". This Act made it a crime to marry any person outside of the race of your own. During this time fifteen other states upheld this same statue.
Credibility Material: According to much research done by L.J. Geo 1967 (1989), Racial Purity is severely at stake due to the decision that thousands of couples /individuals are making daily. The black race and the preservation of the culture is being lost each and every time a black person decided to bare children outside of the black race.
Transition: Black women already become very frustrated with the low supply of "A few good men (black)". Our black women are challenged with locating and securing a mate of there own race due the increasing numbers of black man incarcerated or the black man not educating himself in an effort to make himself to be considered a good catch.
First main Point: Due to the fact that the black male is making the prison his long term home or he is making the streets his home away from home; makes it very difficult for the black female to secure a mate that meets the standards that define her husband. Black men have chosen for numerous years to hustle to make ends meet. The black man tends to think of short term goals in terms of getting money.
