There is a place that is a fun exciting place or to some people a place to survive the woods is a place to explore so some things to survive and stories that happen to people in those situations that happen to me and other people.

I have been born and raised in Alaska and riding four wheelers I have only been in a situation once and I ran out of gas and I was about two miles away from my house and I had to walk my four-wheeler to the gas station which was a mile away to get a phone to call my mom about what happen, and she helped me out. I was doing research and, on the Anchorage, daily news something like this happened but it was worse the article said. “Somewhere in the northeastern corner of this vast, unoccupied region are believed to be the bones of Richard Lyman Griffins from Spokane, Washington, by way of Oregon, California, New York and Florida. Griffins was an inventor always on the move across the country. The riding with griffins ended with running out of gas from there four wheelers and they got lost the police found the wheeler out of gas and he was looking for gas and to get out of the woods”. So, if I was in a worse situation like this before going four wheeling I would extra gas and maybe some buddies if this happened.

One story about surviving the wilderness story is To Build a Fire by Jack London. A man goes in the wilderness at a very cold temperature with his dog and him he tries to stay alive by making fires and trying to keep moving and later in the book he dies from the cold. The way to stay alive from cold I found from an article called Survival Tip’s they said these guidelines are to survive the cold “here are some guidelines that can help to accomplish this. Guideline #1 - Generally it is better to have several layers of lightweight clothes than one or two larger layers. One reason for this is because several layers allow for good ventilation. Thus, the area between layers can serve to trap air which acts as good insulation. Further, this may serve to foster free movement and comfort more easily than huge and puffy clothes. And one section of clothing may serve to shield the rest from unwanted moisture more easily. Guideline #2 - Have boots. This one would seem obvious. However, the type of boot should fit your environment”.  After seeing all these guidelines, we can see why the man died in the book and movie he did not have the right gear on and during the book he makes a fire under a tree with snow on it witch it feel and put the fire out.
